How to Blow
Try the exercises in this section to learn how to blow. Click on the speaker buttons first to hear what each exercise should sound like, then try them for yourself.
The First Five Notes
This section will help you to learn 5 notes for the left hand on the Soprano.
That's enough to play a lot of tunes!
The Finger Chart
This shows where the fingers must be positioned to create all of the notes in octaves 1,2 and 3. You may choose from performer's or observer's view.
Reading a Note
This section will help you to learn the different notes. As each note appears on the screen you must try and guess which note it is and click on the appropriate button. When you get it right it will move on to the next note.
The picture of the recorder will show you the fingering for each note.
Finger Tests
This section you can test how well you know your fingering. The picture of the recorder will show you the position of the fingers and you must guess which note it would play.
When you have finished the test you can save your score. Then next time you play, you can simply load your previous score and keep a record of your improvement.

You can also write your own Tunes in this section by dragging notes from the 'Notebox' and placing them onto the music sheet. Once you have placed your note you can:
To make a note longer or shorter, drag it back to the notebox and select a new note with the length you require.
Lessons
There is a structured course of lessons called 'Lesson 1', 'Lesson 2' and so on. Each one introduces a new note, just as you would find in conventional printed tutors.
Tuning and Sound Setup
You can change the sound of the recorder in this section and use the computer to accompany you on the recorder. You can even write a backing!
